Melbourne
We have a busy Autumn coming up with a few special events
At the end of May the Hawthorn classes are looking forward to a special drumming workshop. The free event will bring people together to learn from a master teacher from Rhythm of Life African Drumming followed by a catered reception. Should be good fun!
Our classes have a lot of love and we shared that with romance themed songs on Valentine’s Day. See photo of Instructor, Paris Wages, sharing some chocolates after class. Also see photo of Paris and Co-Instructor Gabi Stanger enjoying some time with DPA Director Erica Rose and instructors from all over Australia in Canberra. The advanced professional development workshop, ELEVATE, was very inspiring and engaging!
Finally, see Hawthorn class dancer Narelle Gene’s story on aging at the Creative Corner/ storyboard. Lighthearted insight to the question: What is old?
A Dance for Every Season
On Sunday 6 April 2025, dancers from Fine Lines Dance, three Melbourne Dance for Parkinson’s communities and special guests came together to celebrate the power and beauty of dance, no matter what age or condition. Led by co-facilitators Paris Wages, Gabi Stanger, Katrina Rank and Shannon Parsons, A Dance for Every Season was a colourful romp through the four seasons, ending with a Q&A and an in depth discussion. Over fifty people came on the day.
It was a wonderful afternoon. Thanks to everyone who came to make this such a special occasion and to Dancehouse Inc for the lovely space.
