September 2026 News Update – SA

By September 1, 2026No Comments

2026 has brought an injection of fresh energy to the Clarence Park Community Centre dance class. In January the class underwent a rebrand and name change from Contemporary Dance…For Seniors to EveryBody Chair-Based Dance. The class now welcomes any adult for whom this dance class format optimises their dance movement experience. We have also welcomed dancers from Veronica’s Holdfast Bay Community Centre class, which sadly only lasted six months in 2025. However, we are delighted that these dancers are willing to make the cross town journey to dance with us at Clarence Park. Soon we may be welcoming more participants following Veronica’s June presentation and dance experience for the Australian Physiotherapy Association SA Retired Physiotherapist’s Group, which was enthusiastically received.

City of Onkaparinga continues to support Moving Into Dance classes at Port Noarlunga Art Centre with this year being our 10-year anniversary. A couple of our original members are still dancing with us! Tammy Arjona and Jo Scott formed the group in 2016 with Juliette Griffen now part of the team. A new trial program has also started in Aldinga and in Victor Harbor with seed funding provided by The City of Victor Harbor. After a successful first 8-week block of classes, Fleurieu Chair-Based Dance – Victor Harbor has been renewed for a second 8-week block of classes, commencing in late July.
